Jadi kamera DSLR juga menggunakan cermin pentagon yang diletakkan di atas optik melalui lensa film. Dengan cahaya yang masuk maka dipantulkan di atas oleh kaca cermin tentang pentaprisma. kemudian Pentaprisme memantulkan cahaya dengan beberapa pukulan langsung melalui jendela bidik. Setelah tombol dilepaskan, maka kaca membuka jalan bagi cahaya sehingga cahaya bisa langsung berada tepat di film. Untuk komponen, salah satu hal terpenting pada kamera adalah jendela bidik.
Hanya ada dua sistem, yaitu: (Jenis jendela bidik) atau apa yang disebut jendela bidik yang terpisah dari lensa, dan yang lainnya adalah (tipe refleks) juga dapat disebut bidikan melalui lensa. Jadi ini sesuai dengan nama SLR (Single Lens Reflex), yang tentunya akan tahu lebih banyak tentang kualitas dan harga kamera DSLR, kemudian menggunakan tipe kedua, yaitu sistem pemotretan. Mata Anda melihat subjek pada lensa, sehingga tidak ada perubahan, jika Anda tidak melihat secara akurat pada lensa maka ada bagian yang hilang ketika foto dicetak. Dengan perubahan ini pada dasarnya ada bidikan yang sangat dekat menggunakan jendela bidik.
